Jerry Sipe's collage image uses maps, aerial photos, pictures he took of Wakarusa Wetlands wildlife, and other graphics to convey the potential devastation of the proposed "32nd Street" plan for the South Lawrence Trafficway (SLT). This plan, developed by Kansas Department of Transportation and blessed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, would relocate the existing 31st Street as a four lane highway inside the Baker University property line beside the four lane SLT, which would have a 46 ft median to allow for at least two additional lanes in the future. This "Path of Destruction" would also include two mile long concrete walls, further destroying any connectivity between the wetlands that remain in Haskell Indian Nations University's hands and the main portion that was taken from them in the 1960s.
